Mystia Lorelei, a young night sparrow youkai, dreams of becoming the most popular izakaya owner in Gensokyo. But one day, a certain customer shattered her dream and future. She lost everything and had to start over, becoming indebted to the tyrannical Yakumo family.
TOUHOU MYSTIAS IZAKAYA TORRENT is determined to protect the happy smiles of Gensokyo’s people. With help from powerful residents of Gensokyo she would not give up on her dream. You play as Mystia, the owner of a mobile izakaya. During the day you gather ingredients learn new recipes and buy beverages to create the perfect dining experience. At night, you serve different customers with varying preferences and budgets.
Remembering customers’ preferences and cooking with love is key. Familiar characters from Gensokyo may visit as rare customers, giving hints about what they want to eat. Satisfy them to receive special rewards from their “reward spell cards,” which can be combined into powerful combos for big earnings. However, disappointing them will result in “punish spell cards.”
After meeting rare customers, Mystia records their preferences and locations in her notebook. During the day she can talk to them and build stronger bonds gaining their powerful support. With high bond levels, customers become friends who help run the restaurant.
As you progress, you’ll visit six main locations: Youkai Trail, Human Village, Hakurei Shrine, Scarlet Devil Mansion, Bamboo Forest of The Lost, and Hakugyokurou. Each place is detailed and true to the source material. Mystia’s basement is a space for collectibles like costumes, event CG albums, soundtrack CDs, and decorations from friends.
In this pixel art game, much effort was put into the visuals and music to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience. There are over 30 high-resolution pixel CGs, character artworks, and melodious soundtracks, making it a visually and musically rich game.
