If you prefer a slower pace, you can switch to Hold Mode at any time. This change’s the game to a turn-based system where blocks don’t fall, and you can move them at your own speed. The story begins in a quiet town called Oceans End where a young adventure’s Mirai and her pet Sprig discover an ancient power in forgotten ruins. With this new power Mirai can repair, build, and fight. As the story unfolds she’ll help her home of New Riverstone, face enemies like the Scarlet Tusk Pirates and Byzankar Empire, and explore various areas like mountains, forests, temples, and ruins. Along the way she’ll uncover secrets about her own past.

You can also help build and expand the town of New Riverstone by completing quests finding decorative item’s and personalizing your house or town with new features like trees statues and water fountains. You’ll gather resources from dangerous areas or jump into the Mines with Hagan, a fast-paced minigame where the more lines you clear, the more resources you collect.

As you get to know the people of New Riverstone you can build friendships learn their stories and unlock battle bonuses by becoming best friends with them. Throughout the game you’ll explore different islands find treasures solve puzzles and restore ancient structures using Mirai’s powers. These structures can unlock new areas gold experience and special bonuse’s.

The enemies are tough and bring their own tricks. Some, like Jade Beetles, send Armor Tiles to protect themselves, while others like the Weepy Bawliflower heal their allies. You’ll also face off against aggressive enemies like Floracondas, who throw thorny shields onto the board, or Pirate Captain Borras, who smashes holes in your board, making it harder to clear lines. Each fight’s is unique and you will need to stay sharp to win.

Flowstone Saga also has a Co-Op Assist Mode where a second player can jump in and help with battle actions like throwing items, buffing the hero, or stunning monsters. It is a fun way to get an edge in tough fight’s.
