You can build your own EDF team by rescuing teammates scattered around the world, choosing 4 of your best characters, and gearing them up for battle. With over 100 characters to collect, you can customize your squad to fit your playstyle. Soldiers from the history of Earth Defense Force return, including those from spin-offs and the latest game EDF 6, along with over 600 weapons and accessories to arm your team.
Enemies from previous games are back too, with redesigned voxel versions, plus new enemies exclusive to this release. There are over 100 missions to complete, with 5 difficulty level’s to test your skills. After defeating Dark Tyrant, peace was restored, but now the Earth is shattered again, this time by a massive creature called “Gaiarch” from below. You, the legendary Commander, must once again lead a team to save the planet, because whether the Earth is round or square, the EDF never backs down!
For online play the game also supports cross-play with Epic Game’s Store players. If you want to use the “Invite” or “Friend” features, you’ll need to link your Epic Games account with Steam, but even without linking, you can still enjoy full online play.
