HOUSE OF LIGHT is a story-based expansion for the game BOOK OF HOURS which is all about managing an occult library and crafting narratives.In these dark times the people from the occult world are looking for new weapons, alliances, and paths to survive.In this expansion you get to know visitors and their stories in much more depth. You’ll be hosting fancy parties shaping alliances and influencing the creation of the Lighthouse Institute in subtle ways.
Hosting social events at the crumbling Hush House is a big part of the game. You can choose a location, like the Hall of Division, Chapter House, or the Physic Garden, and send out invites. You could host important people from the occult world, make them talk, and watch how they interact.
Your guests will get hungry and it’s your job to impress them with interesting dishes. You could bake Sea-Pie, serve Kedgere or even experiment with unique recipes like Mushroom Meringue or Pheasants. You’ll also get deeper into the visitor storie’s. If you’ve been part of the Oriflamme Heist or know about the Messenger’s Casket, you can now help visitors explore more of their stories. You can create alliances between stranger’s or convince someone to help you defeat an enemy. There’s a new system that lets you influence the world through these visitor stories, and you’ll see the results in the Wisdom Tree. You’ll uncover secrets and connections like the one between Rowena, Yvette and Ys.
You’ll have to choose who should be the Treasurer, who’s best for Secretary Vigilant, and whether everyone shares the same vision.
