The game aims to replicate various phases of the Normandy battle offering players the option to engage in either a comprehensive grand campaign or shorter scenarios starting from different points in time. For instance:
In the Grand Campaign, players can experience the entire Normandy campaign from June 6th to late August, encompassing 30 turns.
Alternatively, the Bocage scenario presents a condensed focus on the challenging battles within the Normandy bocage from June 30th to late August, spanning 22 turns.
The Race for Cherbourg scenario challenges players to seize the strategically vital port of Cherbourg within four weeks, from June 6th to June 26th, in seven turns.
Operation Cobra, another scenario, captures the breakthrough moment when American forces under Patton and Bradley successfully broke out from Normandy. This scenario spans seven weeks, from July 2nd to August 18th, and comprises 15 turns.
Additional scenarios such as those depicting the Battle of Caen or the Mortain/Falaise campaign may be introduced based on the games reception and player feedback.
The game mainly uses brigades or divisions for land units on both sides including smaller units such as garrisons and local defenses.Air units and naval support are grouped together, but only available to the Allied side.
