The story picks up where the movie left off, but the real terror starts now. You play as Captain J.F. Blake the leader’s of a U.S. Special Forces rescue team sent to Antarctica to investigate a series of strange deaths and horrifying events at the Outpost 31 research facility. But things take a turn for the worse when your team encounters a shape-shifting alien that kills and takes the form of its victims. Trapped in the freezing cold and infected by this horrific creature, the fate of your team lies in your hands. Throughout the game you lead your team through 20 terrifying levels facing off against creepy monsters such as head-spiders human-like walkers and huge multi tentacled beasts. The game also introduces a trust and fear system’s where the psychological state of your team member’s affects how they cooperate with you. The way you manage your team’s trust and fear will change how they react to your orders adding a deeper level of interaction.
The graphics have also been completely upgraded, with dynamic lighting, realistic shadows and improved textures that make everything feel more immersive. On top of that you get to use powerful weapons like flamethrowers machine guns and explosives to fight off the monsters. With new achievements, smoother controls, and several different ways to solve challenges the game offers a much better overall experience.
